Cranberry Hootycreeks!!

Do you remember this sneak peak at the presents the boys & I made for their teachers & grandparents & Godparents?
Yes? Or no maybe?! Well, in the jars were the dry ingredients to make Cranberry Hootycreeks! It's a very weird name isn't it? Basically hootycreeks are made cranberry, white chocolate & pecan cookies & they are delicious!
This is what they looked like when they have been made. Timmy, Luke, Jordan & I made this batch after school last week. They were yummy scrummy! Anyway, loads of people we gave the jars to have asked for the recipe to make some more so I thought you might like it too!
Ingredients for Cranberry Hootycreeks
140 g plain flour
50 g oats
2 g baking powder
75 g brown sugar
65 g white sugar
60 g dried cranberries
100 g white chocolate chips
60 g chopped pecans
1 egg
1 teaspoon vanilla essence
100g butter/marg

Method
1. Preheat oven to 350 degrees F (175 degrees C).
2. Grease a baking tray or line with greaseproof paper.
3. 2. In a bowl, mix together softened butter, 1 egg and 1 teaspoon of vanilla.
4. Add all the other ingredients, and mix together until well blended.
5. Drop by heaping spoonfuls onto the prepared baking tray.
6. Bake for 10 minutes, or until edges start to brown. (Middle of cookie might still look uncooked but it is ok!)
7. Cool on tray for a few minutes, then remove to cool completely on wire racks.
8. Enjoy eating them! :o)

Hope you have fun baking them! Enjoy your Sunday! :o)

These hooties were a real delight! Unlike most recipes they looked good even before they were made! Once they're baked you won't spend much time looking at them! Yuuummm!
Thank you ever so much Emily!

I made our Christmas ones as a tray bake-to save on washing up!-and cut them before they cooled. It worked just as well (though you still have to have a bigger tray than you think, for spreading room!) Lovely grub, thankyou! Helen & Ian

Aw thanks for the recipe!! I think I overcooked mine a bit as they were slightly browner round the edges than yours, but still delicious!! And now with the recipe I can make some more!! Yum! xxx

That's why I use grease proof paper- to save washing up between batches as I only have one baking tray! you can also roll the cookie dough into balls & flatten a little before putting them on the tray to cook. I guess it depends how neat you like your biccies!

Glad you all like the recipe! :o)
