I always forget that the last two or three weeks of the Autumn term are a whirlwind of plays, performances, parties, creativity & generally craziness! This year was our Little Star's first nativity play. She did wonderfully- singing, doing the actions, sitting still & generally doing everything she was supposed to do at the right time. That can't be said for many of the other children though! It was the liveliest nativity I have ever been to (even the nursery teacher who has been at the school for approaching twenty years said the same!!). AJ & her fellow stars were brilliant though & did not get distracted by some of the more unruly children! We were so proud of AJ & her friends.
Lee & I really enjoyed the boys Junior Christingle Service at the local church too. We sang everything from We Three Kings & Little Donkey to Mistletoe & Wine & Rockin' Around the Christmas Tree!! It was great! And it was wonderful to see the boys old Year Two teacher there as well. She retired last summer but spent her last term going through treatment for & surgery on a cancerous tumour. It was a delight to see how much better she is looking since we saw her last in the summer. She is truly an inspiration.
And now school is finished for the year & we are all breathing a sigh of relief! For the first time, possibly ever but certainly for the first time in many years, Lee is off work for almost the whole of the school holidays (he has worked two days) having saved up holidays. It helps that he now works in an organisation that closes its office between Christmas & New Year. It is LOVELY! We are blessed indeed!

It looks pretty frantic and noisy! In an organised way of course! I feel sorry for the poor little girl behind though. Well done everyone! And thank you, Emily, for a chance to see the celebrations at school! Enjoy the holidays! K x
Fret not about the little girl behind! I took this photo after the performance had finished (I didn't fancy getting out a big camera during the show as the hall was full of parents pointing cameras & camcorders & mobile phones at the children. Head teacher said it was a bit daunting for him let alone the kids! I agreed so didn't want to add to it!) Anyway, I took a quick snap at the end. the girl got the chance to have a big cuddle with her mum soon after I took the picture & all was well! :o)
Thank you for putting my mind at rest about the little girl; productions can be stressfull whatever one's age! As my last comment was accidentally deleted this is a new one!
By the way I do like some of the word verifications I have to type into the box. Appropriately this one is 'unsend'!
