As with most of our adventures the walk was not without a bit of drama. Much of the grass land was very boggy so it wasn't long before a certain little girl fell & got rather muddy! She soon forgot to stay grumpy when she saw the waterfalls & ornate Chinese buildings though & was then content to explore with her bottom half almost completely cover in black goo! Super Mum came to the rescue clambering up the rope ladders to save Luke who got in a panic at the top of the climbimg frame & was clinging on upside down for dear life! As I grabbed him from the top beam & rested him on the net below he exclaimed 'Praise the Lord! I didn't die! Praise the Lord!' His genuine gratitude was completely heart felt & spontaneous! Beautiful!
On the way back to the car I introduced the kids to 'Grandmother pop out of bed' much to their delight. Annie~Joy could be heard in the backseat saying to the huge white bell she held in her hand, 'It's ok I'll look after you! I'm taking you home to a new bed little Grandma!' Sweet!
And now we are back home, ready for a cuppa but in no need of food thanks to the hearty brunch at Tavern Co! AJ has a new set of clothes on & Lee is loading up the washing machine again. Soon we shall start making the teachers their end of term thankyou gifts together. I can't believe the school year & this part of our Liverpool adventures are nearly at an end......

I wonder what sort of Grandma AJ had in mind when talking to the flower? The other day Ken and I were saying how we did that and didn't think twice about ruining a flower when we were kids! I remember the festival garden being made in the troubled times of the 70s- how time flies. Enjoy your time left at school.

We thought more than twice about popping Granny out of bed!! But there was bind weed EVERYwhere with lots & lots of flowers most of which couldn't be reached by human hands due to the brambles & nettles. I think that's what makes the Festival Gardens so special now- the fact that the land has been left alone to flourish without people for so long! There are wild strawberries & all kinds of wild flowers that I'm sure weren't part of the original plantings. It's a lovely mix of wild under growth & landscaped orderly-ness! :o)
Sounds like you had lots of fun! I thought that AJ didn't look too happy in the photo~am presuming that the photo was taken just after she got covered in mud???!! Bless her! And pray, do tell, what is Grandma pop out of bed???? Is it like 'he loves me, he loves me not'? And absolutely loved Luke's comment about praising the Lord for not dying!!! How special!!!
Thanks for sharing! xxx
