On Sunday May 11th after church, we packed up the car & drove to Formby beach for the afternoon. It was a scorching hot day & it seemed as though half of Liverpool was on the beach!

It was Annie's first trip to the beach! She loved going in the sea & splashing about....

...just like her big brother Luke, who wasted no time in diving into the water! He laughed & laughed & splashed a lot too! However, he wasn't so keen on the fact that, once wet, the sea breeze makes you very cold when you get out of the water!

A trip to the seaside isn't complete without building sandcastles. Timmy enjoyed collecting the water for the moat in his bucket....

... as did Jordan. We have yet to perfect the art of getting the water to stay in the trench we spent ages digging though!

The end result was rather good we thought!

Timmy also built a castle of his own mostly because he wanted to knock down the sandcastles once they had been made & Jordan wasn't happy that his efforts were being destroyed almost immediately! But once Timmy had built his own mot & bailey castle he didn't want to knock it down anyway!

Formby beach has the most amazing sand dunes but it is extremely difficult to get a pram onto the beach or walk up the steep hill with all the soft sand! Annie loved being pulled backwards in her pram & giggled all the way back to the car!

And of course, the trip ended with ice creams. Big ploppy drops of rain were falling by this stage accompanied by thunder & lightening which the boys were both excited by & a little scared of! It was fun driving home in the rain all snuggled up in towels & coats!

Lovely pics! That sand castle made me envious! Annie looks great and just like Jordi in the pushchair pic.
