On both the May Bank holidays we went for walks in Delamere Forest with family & friends. On the May Day bank holiday we went with Nicola & our old friend Gary who came to stay with us for the weekend....

...and on the second Bank Holiday we went with Lee's cousin Debbie, her husband Jon & their 3 children. It was a gorgeous sunny day & the kids had a fabulous time together!

There is so much to do in the forest- there are the log piles to climb on....

...muddy puddles to splash in (when we went to the forest with Gary coz it rained a lot!)

....owls to stroke.....

... sunshine to enjoy...

...and people to carry you! The boys got on really well with Gary as you can see here!

All the kids took it in turns to take photos with my camera. Sophie, aged almost 5 took this picture. Good isn't it?

But not all the pictures were quite as successful! LOL!!

I was really pleased with this little arty shot of Sophie, Jordan & Jamie exploring the woodland. The only trouble is, is I don't quite know how I took it!!

Jordan & Sophie got on really really well. What mischief are they planning here I wonder??!

Annie & Ethan enjoyed getting to know each other too! Aaah!

About half way round the walk is a huge dipped area which the kids love to play in. The 2 Dads, Lee & Jon had a fabulous time chasing the kids up & down the slope. It was lovely to watch (I was feeding Annie her lunch by this point!)

I just love this photo of Jordan & Luke hurtling down the slope before they rush up the other side again!

There is a great tree to climb there too. Sophie looks right at home sitting in it!

And look! Timmy has got Jon to carry him! (I told you they always get people to carry them didn't I?) Timmy was very at home on Jon's shoulders & nearly fell asleep up there! Bless!

There were horses in the field which the kids loved chatting to. I'm not sure the horse was quite as keen as he kept stamping his hoof at them!

Back at the Visitor Centre we ate our packed lunch & drank hot chocolate with some other friends Alan & Sarah & their 2 children Caleb & Ruben.

The boys had a great time playing together & climbing this gate to watch the trains go by on the track on the other side of the field. We love going to Delamere! We are so blessed to have such a fabulous place on our doorstep & be able spend time there with great friends & family.

I never knew Debbie was Lee's cousin! I know her (kind of) from Sticky Fingers. Also, from reading all your blog entries I am amazed at just how much you do with your children. Perhaps that should be our summer resolution - to get out more with ours!
It's a lovely pic of you and it's nice to see dear old Gary too. The slopey bit reminds me of our activities at Cuffley camp. Do you remember at Ardeley we used to be out all the time on walks, winter picnics and campfires? (once illegally- by mistake of course!!)
I met Debbie at sticky fingers once when Sophie was just born- corks!
You really do take good photos!! I love the arty one with the pine cones and the one with Jordan and his little friend planning mischief!! And the one of the boys running down the hill is a brill action shot! And how did she get up that tree!!!???? xxx
